History

Since 1985, DAS Business Furniture has earned a reputation for delivering on our commitments – really doing what we say we will do.

Milestones;

1985 – DAS Business Furniture was founded by David Riley. We supplied trading desks to Smith New Court, now part of Merrill Lynch – still a client of DAS today

1986 – In the lead up to 'Big Bang' significant installations for Morgan Grenfell (now part of Deutsche Bank) Chase Manhattan Bank and HSBC

1988 – Major Trading Rooms for Credit Suisse First Boston and Barclays de Zoete Wedd Durlacher (BZW)

1990 – Supply of trading booths for the floor of the LIFFE futures market, and Trading desks for Smith New Court's new HQ in London

1992 – Design and launch of the Linear trading desk system and installation of these desks for EBRD and Commerzbank

1993 – Linear broking desk system developed and supplied to Eurobrokers

1994 – Installation of desks for Saudi International Bank's new permanent London office, following DAS's installation of 50 temporary desks within 3 weeks of the Bishopsgate bombing in 1993

1995 – Installation of 275 Positions for Bank of America and 152 for Nationsbank in London. Both since replaced by DAS Optima desks when the banks merged in B of A's new headquarters in Canary Wharf in 2003

1997 – Bespoke Control Room furniture installed for the Thames Barrier in London. Trading Rooms for BZW, JP Morgan, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi and Mitsubishi Finance International and the first desks using flat screen technology for West Merchant Bank

1998 – Launch of the Ultima desk system supplied to Dresdner Kleinwort Benson at Riverbank House, and Societe Generale at Tower Hill

1999 – Major trading desk installation for Bear Stearns over 2 floors in the Canary Wharf Tower and for Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong. Replacement of 1000 trading desks for Lehman Brothers at Broadgate. Design and Launch of the Optima system

2000 – Provision of furniture for Jordan Grand Prix Racing Headquarters marks the start of DAS sponsorship of motor racing, which continues to this day. More than 1,000 Optima desks for ABN Amro in Sydney. Commencement of supply of Optima desks to BP, over 1600 positions supplied to date

2001 – Installation of more than 1700 Optima trading desks for Merrill Lynch in London, creating Europe's largest trading room

2002 – Supply of the Multi-task desking system to Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in London. Phase 1 of replacement of trading desks for Nomura International in London and Hong Kong

2003 – Installation of 737 desks for Merrill Lynch in Tokyo to the same design as the London desks; 1200 desks for Lehman Brothers and 800 desks for Bank of America installed concurrently in Canary Wharf

2004 – Commencement of global supply of desks for Standard Chartered in Kuala Lumpur followed by installations in London, Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Dhaka. Design and supply of the Multima desk system to ICAP in Broadgate

2005 – Installation of 1200 trading desks for RBS in Bishopsgate. Supply of desks to Morgan Stanley in Moscow, Paris and Milan

2006 – 1000 trading desks installed in Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein's new Headquarters in London. Design and launch of Optima E, with electric height adjustment and advanced cable management systems
